Postgraduate studies and scientific research are the basic pillar for the advancement of societies and nations scientifically, technically, economically, and socially. Represented by the Deanship for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, the College of Education has focused on developing college’s graduate programs and enhancing the outputs of scientific research in line with the vision, mission, and strategic objectives of the College and University. Emphasizing the development of education and achieving the establishment of the infrastructure for postgraduate studies and scientific research in accordance with the standards of academic accreditation and local and international quality assurance. On 24/1/1434 AH, the first postgraduate program at the college and university, the Master's Program in Educational Administration, was established. After that, other postgraduate programs were opened in the college (Master's Program in Hadith and Interpretation and Master's Program in Curriculum and Teaching Methods). On 29/1/1439 AH, the first Master's thesis was discussed at the university in the presence of His Excellency the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Hamid, and the university vice deans.
In conclusion, it is my pleasure to provide all aspects of support and assistance to the academic departments and to overcome all obstacles and difficulties faced by college's postgraduate students.
Vice Dean for Graduate Studies, Scientific Research, and Quality
Responsibilities of the Vice Dean:
1- Following up and approving the schedules for postgraduate students at an early date, such as exams and study schedules.
2- Preparing and coordinating master's thesis discussions.
3- Work as a link between the departments of the College of Education and the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies.
4- Receiving the decisions of the departments regarding the applications of postgraduate students, and sending them to the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies after being approved by the College Council.
5- Supervising requests for postponement and withdrawal for not studying, as well as deletion and addition processes, and deprivation lists in accordance with the regulations and decisions issued in this regard for postgraduate students.
6- Follow up on master's plans and thesis for postgraduate students, and provide the necessary support to students.
7- Activating academic advising for postgraduate students.
8- Encouraging graduate and undergraduate students to engage in scientific research by conducting theoretical and applied research related to contemporary educational issues and problems in the educational field.
9- Encouraging faculty members to carry out scientific research in various educational disciplines, and limiting such research to a special directory.
10- Supervising the activities and developing the college's capabilities in the field of scientific research.
11- Follow up on updating the college's website with regard to its vice deanship, and its affiliated administrative units.
12- Motivating teaching assistants and lecturers to get scholarships to international universities for master and doctoral programs.
13- Providing teaching assistants and lecturers with procedures and controls for internal and external scholarships.
14- Recommending the extension or termination of scholarships based on the proposal of department councils, and the reports received from external supervisors and cultural attachés.
15- Follow up on everything related to the scholarship, externally and internally.
16- Communicating and coordinating with the Deanship of Development and Quality in all matters related to development, quality, and academic accreditation.
17- Supervising the work of academic accreditation in the college and providing the necessary support to the scientific departments and various units towards completing all requirements.
18- Coordinating between the various departments and units of the college to ensure integration between them in terms of quality and academic accreditation.
19- Proposing procedures and instructions related to development and quality, and following up on their implementation after their approval.
20- Discussing the results of applying the standards of quality and academic accreditation with the various departments, and units of the college to verify the application of the standards in a proper manner.
21- Representing the college in university meetings and committees related to academic development and quality.
22- Preparing the college's strategic plan.
23- Preparing the college's annual report.
24- Carry out any other tasks within the competence of the Agency.
