Workshop: Learning Philosophy and Teaching and Learning Strategies
The Department of Pharmacognosy at the College of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, organized an English-language workshop titled "Learning Philosophy and Teaching and Learning Strategies". The workshop, held on Monday, June 4, 2026, at 12:30 PM via Microsoft Teams, targeted faculty members of the Master's Program in Evaluation and Application of Herbal Medicines.
Prepared and presented by Professor Sahar Abdo El-Sayed, Professor of Curriculum and Mathematics Education at the College, with the aim of:
1. Clarify learning philosophy
2. Appreciating the importance of continuing education pillars in teaching strategies.
3. Comparison between teaching strategy, method and style.
4. Explain the criteria for selecting teaching strategies.
5. Clarify the roles of the faculty member and the learner in teaching strategies.
6. Practical application of examples of effective teaching strategies in the field of specialization.
The workshop witnessed a large turnout and interaction from the participants, who also expressed how much they benefited from the rich topics it included.
