1- Introduction to the Department:
The Department of Curricula and Instruction is one of the major supporting departments in the College of Education. It plays a vital role in the work system inside the College helping achieve its mission and vision and taking part in the professional preparation of teachers through providing them with the essential knowledge, values and teaching skills and forming the comprehensive personality of the teacher which enables him to practice his profession effectively in accordance with contemporary changes and professional requirements and develop himself and his students and the whole educational system. The department provides many programs which aim at preparing educational leadership and performing scientific research. The department provides many general and specialized professional, technical and cultural services needed by governmental and private educational and social sectors in accordance with standards of comprehensive quality.

The Department of Curriculum and Teaching Methods possesses many components and energies that enable it to participate effectively in achieving the vision of the college and the university. Foremost among these components is the department’s richness in the multiplicity of its members’ specializations and the diversity of their experiences and scientific backgrounds, with the department’s constant aspiration to improve its performance and role in improving and developing the educational process to reach excellence and leadership. The department’s goals stemmed from a clear vision and a specific mission to permanently upgrade the educational and teaching capabilities and competencies of the teacher, enabling him to participate effectively in the teaching profession, work on developing and improving it, and even participate in building society as a whole efficiently, effectively and efficiently.

Providing qualitative postgraduate programs to prepare teachers, educational experts and academics by providing them with academic and research knowledge and skills to develop and produce scientific knowledge related to curricula and teaching strategies in a supportive educational environment and through effective community participation in accordance with the highest quality standards.
Objectives:
Within the framework of the objectives of the College of Education, which aims to prepare highly qualified teachers and educational experts, the Curriculum and Instruction Department seeks to achieve the following objectives:
- Preparing educational cadres by providing them with theoretical and practical experiences in teaching strategies, the foundations of building curricula and their organization, evaluating and developing them, and employing information and communication technology.
- Preparing academic and research cadres capable of keeping pace with modern trends and capable of developing educational practices by diagnosing educational problems and proposing creative solutions to meet the needs of society.
- Providing graduate studies programs in specializations that meet the needs of the labor market and development plans in the Kingdom.
- Conducting many high-level research in the field of curricula and teaching methods according to a plan aimed at upgrading the department's services in accordance with the latest global trends and theories.
- Achieving community partnership with all community bodies and institutions concerned with education by linking all services provided by the department to the community’s needs and future plans, and providing educational and research consultancies specialized in the field of curricula and teaching strategies to the concerned authorities.
