about the department

1- Introduction to the Department:

The department was established within the intermediate college in 1403H. Then, when the college became affiliated to the General Presidency for Girls' Education in 1415H, the department became independent like other departments. Finally, the college affiliation shifted to Prince Sattam bin Abdul Aziz University.

At the beginning of the academic year 1434/1435H, the department of General Preparations (Islamic Studies Section) in the College of Sciences and Humanities was merged with the Islamic Studies Department. Moreover, Dr. Khalid Muhaidib designated as head of the department. Since then, the department serves all the university’s students through presenting general preparation courses and through supervising students of the Islamic Studies Department.

2- Head of the Department 's Speech:

Praise be to God, we praise Him, we seek His help, we seek His forgiveness, we seek His guidance, and we seek refuge in God from the evils of ourselves and our bad deeds. Whoever God guides, none can mislead him, and whoever He leads astray, none can guide him. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, alone with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.

As for what follows:

From the loftier closeness and the best obedience is paying attention to Islamic knowledge and what is based on it from the Book of God and the Sunnah of His Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, since those sciences are the most honourable sciences and the highest in status, as God Almighty said: “O People of the Book! Now Our Messenger has come to you, revealing much of what you have hidden of the Scriptures and disregarding much. There certainly has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book, through which Allah guides those who seek His pleasure to the ways of peace, brings them out of darkness and into light by His Will, and guides them to the Straight Path.” [Al-Ma’idah: 15-16], And as God Almighty said: “Surely this Quran guides to what is most upright, and gives good news to the believers—who do good—that they will have a mighty reward.” [Al-Isra: 9], and since Sharia sciences have such a high status, our country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has made praiseworthy efforts in disseminating educational programs based on Sharia science, and the rulers, may God protect them, were keen to support those departments and colleges with what It requires of human, financial and material capabilities, and this - praise be to God - is the country’s concern

Since the era of its founder, King Abdulaziz - may God have mercy on him.

The Department of Islamic Studies at the College of Education at Prince Sattam University is almost the most important in this university, as it covers the needs of all the university’s colleges and departments in general and specialized courses. This gives a great aspect to the amount of responsibility placed on the department’s management and employees, and they, thank God, are among the highest qualified and educated people from various Islamic specializations, and they find support and assistance from the President of the University and the University Vice Deans, in addition to the supervision and follow-up of the Dean of the College. I hope that the honourable visitor to this page will find what meets his needs and makes him fully informed of the department’s activities and the programs it offers, and God grant us success.
