Tasks and Responsibilities
- Early preparation of schedules for graduate students, such as exams schedules and course schedules
- Preparing classrooms for graduate students before the beginning of semester. Acting as a link between the departments of the College of Education and the Deanship of Graduate Studies.
- Updating the procedural guide for graduate studies in the College of Education in coordination with the Deanship of Graduate Studies and in line with the prevailing regulations and instructions.
- Reviewing, organizing and updating the phases and procedures of Master's plans and theses submitted by graduate students.
- Creating a constantly updated list of supervisors and graduate students.
- Conducting academic advising for graduate students.
- Coordination with the Deanship of the College of Education regarding the work of the Graduate Studies Unit.

Scientific Research Unit working on:
1) Supporting the activities and developing capabilities of the college in the field of scientific research.
2) Coordination with other college units in all related fields and joint research interest.
3) Supervising the Research Excellence Award by setting the conditions for submission and selecting the panel.
4) Coordination with the Deanship of Scientific Research, the Research Center at the university and other research institutions regarding conducting research and obtaining appropriate support.
5) Implementation of the tasks assigned to it in terms of scientific research from the higher administrative authorities of the college and university.
6) Setting standards and methods for implementing, conducting, and evaluating research and studies in the college in coordination with the Deanship of Scientific Research.
7) Observing the members’ research on the university’s website and on Google Scholar & Research Gate platforms.
8) Encouraging faculty members to keep pace with recent developments in the field of scientific research and to support its role in serving and developing the local community.
9) Encouraging students to carry out scientific research in the areas of specialization with the provision of appropriate technical support in coordination with the faculty members of the college and the Deanship of Student Affairs in the work of the scientific conference for students of higher education in the Kingdom.
Unit Responsibilities:
Procedures followed by the unit in all scientific activities that are organized through the unit are listed below:
First: The procedures used when preparing the scientific research plan at the beginning of each academic year:
- Determining a coordinator for each academic department in the college.
- Meeting with all coordinators in which the procedures of the research plan are set and its controls, objectives and supporting activities are defined.
- Determining the needs of the local community for scientific research in the context of urgent problems in the university area.
- Contact the Deanship of Scientific Research to get acquainted with the Deanship’s directions regarding its research priorities and future plan, as well as with the representative of the Deanship of Student Affairs in the college to learn about its scientific activities and forums, especially in the scientific research domain.
- Proper media coverage of all activities of the plan before and after the end of the activities.
- Concentrating on motivation by honoring all participants in the unit's activities and various activities.
- Coordination with the Student Activities Unit at the college in all matters relating to students in scientific research affairs.
- Ensuring the documentation of all scientific activities related to the work of scientific research following a method that supports the development and quality work in the college.
Second: Procedures used in organizing events:
1) Setting the event title.
2) Assigning the target groups.
3) Determine the location of the event.
4) Assigning the executer of the event and communicating with her.
5) Announcing the event in the college and through social networking sites.
6) Documenting all scientific activities.
7) Proper scientific coverage of the activities after their completion
8) Ensure the invitation and participation of the college administration, which represents an element of attraction and motivation for the participants.
Third: The procedures followed in holding scientific research competitions (The Research Excellence Award at the college level)
1) Selection and formation of the competition organizing committee.
2) Preparation of competition forms and refereeing them by specialists.
3) Determining the terms for accepting research and its required specifications.
4) Formally notify all faculty members.
5) The selection of the panel according to the terms and conditions agreed upon by the organizing committee.
6) Determining the criteria for refereeing, taking advantage of the efforts of the Deanship of Scientific Research in this regard. Announcing the
7) Evaluation results and inviting the honorees to attend the honoring ceremony.
Fourth: The procedures used in the closing ceremony of student activities:
1) Contact the student activities officer at the college to find out the date and location of the closing ceremony of student activities.
2) Submitting a detailed report on the most important achievements of the plan and what has not been accomplished, and identify weaknesses, strengths and priorities for improvement during the coming period.
3) Honoring the members participating in scientific research activities throughout the year.
4) Preparing a detailed report and submitting it to the Vice Dean for Development and Quality.
